MY STORY

I was the tender age of fourteen and starring on the CBS soap opera “Love of Life” when my Alopecia Areata was discovered. As the show's hairstylist asked me to brush my long luscious blond “mane” he noticed a huge bald spot in the back of my head as smooth as silk. I couldn't have been more horrified. After all, a hairless scalp is as big of a shock to a child, as it is for an adult.
Twenty-five years ago there was little information to help me understand it all. My desperate search for answers lead me to specialists and healers in the U.S., London, Italy and France. I was willing to do anything for even the slightest chance of success.
One doctor talked me into his latest “amazing” procedure; shaving the top layer of my scalp off which he assured me would “help the follicles breath and in turn get my precious hair back.”It took months for my bloody scalp to heal... and no, my hair did not return. So you see, I understand. Instantly, I knew that if I were going live a normal life with whatever this condition was and secure my acting career, I had to take the stance of being victorious, instead of a victim. I immediately set out to learn everything there was to know about wigs, hair pieces, quality, materials, maintenance, beauty tips, and correct pricing.
I developed useful techniques which successfully helped me survive all the challenges this condition can create. I believe that at any age... You can triumph too.
